Children's wear service project | Fleur mauve
In collaboration with a child from the Foster Home of Lubbock, I embarked on a heartwarming project aimed at creating a cherished garment that not only encapsulates the child's loves but also ensures longevity through adjustable features. Drawing inspiration from her fondness for the color purple, flowers, and a desire for a long-sleeved dress, I carefully selected a stretchy knit velvet adorned with delightful floral patterns.
The resulting garment is a testament to her preferences, featuring a scoop neckline that effortlessly transitions from a classic on-shoulder style to an alluring off-shoulder look. Its design comprises a mid-length skirt with a charming lettuce hem, complemented by gracefully long balloon sleeves with delicate cuffs. The fitted bodice accentuates comfort while embracing style.
To add versatility and the ability to transform the dress, I incorporated three interchangeable bows. These bows serve as delightful accents, allowing the garment to be worn in multiple captivating styles, each reflecting the child's unique personality and evolving tastes. This creation is not just a dress; it is a wearable story, a symbol of care and consideration. It represents the celebration of a child's preferences and dreams, ensuring that this garment remains a beloved piece, adapting gracefully to her growth and ever-changing styles.
