Generative AI Assignment | Jungle Fever Name
For our assignment, I entered a creative journey inspired by the boundless possibilities of generative AI. Starting with a mood board crafted in the style of our choosing, we delved into a realm where imagination knows no bounds. Drawing from the diverse elements within our mood board, we incorporated the power of AI to generate eight distinct design looks, each a unique expression of our vision. From sleek minimalism to vibrant eclecticism, my collection embodies versatility and innovation. To encapsulate the essence of our designs, we created a cover page that captures the essence of our aesthetic journey, accompanied by a color board showcasing the vibrant hues and dynamic palette that define our collection. This assignment not only challenged us to push the boundaries of creativity but also provided a platform to explore the intersection of artistry and technology.

For this exciting assignment, I delved into the realm of professional growth to curate a diverse and compelling list of 10 internship opportunities set to unfold during the summer of 2024. Knitwear Assignment | Activewear/Swimwear
This assignment challenged us to design and produce a dynamic activewear or swimwear ensemble comprising a minimum of two pieces. This project served as an exciting opportunity to harness our proficiency in knitwear techniques while delving into the intricacies of sewing with knit fabrics. The primary goal was to combine our evolving skill set with the demands of creating functional yet fashionable garments. It involved a meticulous fusion of design prowess, fabric selection tailored for performance, and mastering the art of sewing knits to bring our envisioned pieces to life.

As part of our apparel product development project, our assignment revolved around crafting a garment tailored for a specific category in the esteemed FGI (Fashion Group International) garment competition. As participants in the captivating Food In Fashion Project, my classmate and I embarked on a collaborative journey, with a unique and fun challenge: to design and construct an avant-garde garment that incorporated at least 70% of materials sourced directly from our partnered restaurant. Our creative alliance led us to team up with River Smiths, a local spot in Lubbock, Texas known for its amazing and unique seafood.

Crafted to encapsulate the impact of the Ukraine conflict and the global upheaval resulting from disrupted crude oil supplies, this garment serves as an important narrative canvas. Crafted with vibrant Ukrainian hues and somber tones depicting oil dependence, its textures reflect the turmoil of conflict and aspirations for peace. The silhouette combines strength with vulnerability, while intricate details symbolize disrupted supply chains and a collective longing for resolution. Beyond fashion, this piece amplifies silent voices, conveying the human toll of geopolitical turmoil and celebrating resilience amidst adversity, honoring the interconnectedness of our world.

In this year's design challenge, students were tasked with selecting a sustainability focus: preferred fibers, manufacturing, or end-of-life/reusability. We then had the opportunity to showcase our chosen focus by integrating 2-3 AATCC Test Methods, which could include aspects like coloration, laundering, odor, fiber fragments, among others. These methods were instrumental in substantiating our claims and demonstrating the sustainability of our designs.
